Mo Foster

Mo Foster

A Memorial Concert for Mo Foster – ‘One Mo Time’ takes place on 27th November 2023 from 7pm at the 229.london venue.

Mo Foster appears in our instrumental and fusion sequences.

Mo Foster is one of the best known session bassists, lending his talents to any number of recording sessions from the early 1970s.  These include work with Judie Tzuke (‘Stay With Me Til Dawn’), Gary Moore (‘Empty Rooms’) and Jeff Beck (‘There And Back’).  He has also released music in his own right, with a series of solo albums from the 1980s onwards including library music for film and TV.

He was a member of pop rock band Fancy (with Ray Fenwick) in 1974-5, toured with Phil Collins and Jeff Beck.  He’s produced many artists and he has also found time to write a book about his experiences and those of his contemporaries ‘British Rock Guitar’ (Northumbria Press, 2011).

During Lockdown he kept busy readying the release of a 3-CD Fancy retrospective, via Cherry Red (29 January 2021), and his own solo album ‘Mo Foster & Friends In Concert’ via Right Track Records, 21 March 2021.

Mo Foster passed away on 3 July 2023.
