we'd selected an acapella-intro version that appeared on the 'Song of Yesterdays' box
set.
Paul didn't recall this version and I ended up playing it down the phone to him
by way of familiarisation!"

The Symphony X frontman's solo outing, more hard rock than prog metal.
25 September HARD STUFF Bulletproof (1972)
The late John Du Cann, one time with Atomic Rooster, in feisty trio signed to
the Purple label.
2 October MAGNUM Sleepwalking (1992)
Sometimes overlooked album before the band suffered 1990s hiatus
9 October JOURNEY Raised On Radio (1986)
With Russ Valory and Steve Smith gone, this album is sometimes considered a
Steve Perry-with-backing-band effort.
16 October RIVER CITY PEOPLE Say Something Good (1989)
The debut from this Liverpool band was reissued with the minor hit, a cover of
California Dreamin'.
23 October CHIMPAN A (2006)
Featuring members of Magenta and The Storys, this project also featured an
approved sample of 'Tubular Bells'.
30 October LEAF HOUND Growers Of Mushroom (1971)
With the current incarnation celebrating the album's 40th anniversary, a classic
and cult blues rock album.
6 November SHADOW KING (1991)
Lou Gramm's first band excursion outside of Foreigner together with Dio/Def
Leppard guitarist Vivien Campbell.
13 November THE STORM (1991)
In 1990 Journeymen Ross Valory, Gregg Rolie and Steve Smith formed The Storm
with Kevin Chalfant and Josh Ramos. The debut album showed a harder rock edge.
20 November HARDLINE Double Eclipse (1992)
During an extended hiatus in the Journey camp, Neal Schon hitched up with Deen
Castronovo (Bad English) and the Gioeli brothers to fashion an altogether more
thrusty offering.
